Yes our short codes are case sensitive.
Not at this time, they may be suspended though due to your website going down or the presence of a suspect virus or trojan.
We apologise but as from 22/05/2019 we will not allow any further adult or 18+ sites to create links.
30 days from the above date all adult links will be removed from our database giving the owners time to either move their links to a more suitable host.
We can only apologise but AI6 was primarily designed for a family and business audience and unfortunately Adult or Dating sites do not fit into this category, in a very short while we were finding a lot of adult sites using our service, We personally have no opinion, BUT; other users, visitors may not and/or do not share our opinion and to help ensure that AI6 remains a Free Family Friendly Site we must eliminate any risk to the detriment of this.
There are plenty of other services out there that do not mind this type of content, additionally; if you really like the way AI6 is laid out, are not too offended by this change, and like all the protective features of AI6 we are setting up an adult version of AI6 specifically for this type of site, we will notify you when this is completed.
We send a 301 “site moved permanently” header to the visitor’s browser or to anyone querying the link.
Any credit allocated to the link is transferred to the target domain, this works in Google or any other engine, Putting it another way any credit from the link is transferred to your site.
Unfortunately; images can carry viruses (Admittedly RARE) but the main reason is offensive images carrying child abuse and adult porn, these are usually uploaded to a random unregulated image host and then linked through several Shortener’s to either mask intent or confuse the person clicking the link to believe it’s genuine.
We of course cannot permit this and policing every single image submitted to the Link Shortener is extensive and not viable especially if the link is redirected more than once, it is unfortunate but we cannot allow this anonymously, we may allow this in future with either paid or refundable deposit accounts, as nobody like losing a deposit :)
Not every site is the same and connections are usually instantaneous However; if you do experience a small lag then this mostly depends (and is usually down to) how quick your site AND/OR server is to respond to a connection request from our site! Before any user is redirected to your site several system checks are made, i.e. is the site available AND/OR is the site in the threat defender database, you would never be connected directly to your site until these initial checks are made.
Although your site may be up today and/or not a threat to a visitor right now, it may be compromised tomorrow, look at it as a sort of firewall between the link we give you and your site protecting your users and preventing any bad karma reaching your site , once fully tested and registered on our system you will be able to get a notice that your site is compromised and/or is down in an email, enabling you to do something about it, this not only protects your visitor but protects your site from becoming listed as a threat in Google and or other threat databases and of course helps to protect our site too.
An anonymous account prevents you from doing this at server level.
Unfortunately; spammers and scammers have prevented us from providing this service to you as an anonymous user and in order to protect your domain and any others associated with our site!
There are very few instances where you should really need to connect to another redirection service!
In the past whilst using redirection services as a mask to cover up a malicious site.
It is simply not allowed in anonymous accounts, unless you directly connect to the intended landing page you cannot use this service anonymously, in the not to distant future we will be offering account registration where you will be able to connect to other redirection services giving a valid reason for doing so.
When converting a long link into a short code a unique QR code is also generated. To save this QR code simply right click on the image of the QR code that is displayed with your short link and select save image as before choosing where you would like to save your QR code and hitting the save button.
Please remember any QR image or code is created on the fly in anonymous accounts and will not be kept, you may be able to link to the cache for a short time but the cache is cleared every X day.
The only accounts that will be able to save their QR short code on our servers and save them will be registered accounts.
We use 6 alphanumeric characters in our links but Eventually AI6 NET will reuse links mainly due to (i.e. dead links, links to dead domains, malicious unrepaired links etc.), However; with over 56 billion possible combinations for short codes we won’t need to reuse any short codes for quite a while yet.
additionally, we have not ruled out the feasibility of introducing a 7-character string at that stage that would take us into trillions of combinations and/or links.
There is also a new feature being introduced on registered accounts where you can create your own unique character link extending above the 6 alphanumeric character limitation.
At present we do not see AI6 reusing short codes or links for several years if indeed ever.
The URL Shortener tests the target domain initially to see if it can connect to it, then another test if the URL has been compromised i.e. URL Defender! If either case is true the system will not redirect to the target domain and show a message.
If your domain has been compromised in any way this is not only bad for your sites reputation but it also reflects on our site’s reputation, we do not allow any malicious or error 500 etc. links, our practice is to immediately stop any bad reputation for either you, us or anyone else that uses our link shortening service.
The remedy is straight forward for a broken page you just simply need to ensure the page exists and/or your server is showing the page and is working correctly.
It is slightly more complicated for a Virus or Trojan, you fist need to find out where and/or what the infection is, it is also usually best to find how you got it on your site in the first place so that it does not happen again! after this you will need to start repairing your reputation for the domain, this is a case of going around the Internet to see where your domain is listed as a malicious site, there are several block sites on the Internet and this is not limited to Google safe browsing, McAfee, Norton or AVG these are all active players as well as many others it does not always follow that removal from one database removes you from all others, However; if that seems like too much work your site should and may repair over time as you get automatically removed from these databases as no longer a threat.
We do not remove links unless they go against our terms of service or we consider them an abuse of our service, if your link does get removed there is usually a good reason.
We do understand a user’s pessimistic view on link Shortener’s and the here today gone tomorrow throw away attitude of a lot of developers... getting users paranoid, but did you ever wonder why?
Even google stopped their service so why would you trust a newbie :) and newbie I am not!
We can only give you perspective from our point of view, the programmer who built this platform has a good record of staying power and reliability and as an example the developer of this new platform built the original Free Counters site way back in 1999, although this site looks dated and needs a serous clean out the counter software still runs today as it was intended and has been doing so for the last 18+ years, if you want to visit the site just type in Free Counters into search and you will find it.
So, in essence you can guarantee we are not going anywhere (save natural disaster or action from god), if you create a link that does not go to a blank page or malicious site or the link has not been removed from a page and is still actually live and being used your link will remain live for as long as required, will not change unless you have an account and change it yourself, this we can guarantee to our users.
URL Defender collects information from several well-known databases and blacklists, it then compiles this information into a very vast and fast Globel Threats Database, it also connects to your site with a virus algorithm testing for things like malware and known trojans.
Defender BOT also visits your site at random intervals to check if it’s still OK, there is still a bit of work to do here.
if Malware or a Trojan is found it will then automatically list your site to defend itself AND/OR warn you of the potential problem.
We will also be adding a feature for registered users to add sites and whitelist their own, these types of listing will be monitored very closely unless the automation say’s otherwise.
To protect, your site, our site and your visitors.
AI6 works to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information about unsafe web resources to protect your site and ours and any of your site users. However, AI6 cannot guarantee that its information is comprehensive and error-free: some risky sites may not be identified, and some safe sites may be identified in error.
We use a few services to provide us with up to date information on malware sites and no site (including Google) can guarantee 100% removal of any risk as the Internet changes every hour of the day, new viruses are created and new websites are attacked, additionally; there is a chance of both false positives (safe sites flagged as risky) and false negatives (risky sites not flagged).
A FREE Registered account will give you to extended features not necessarily limited to better or more statistics!
You may on occasion get an extra hit in your statistics even if you do not use the link!
1. When our BOT tests you site for malicious code!
2. When we have had a report from a visitor about your site, we may manually visit it ourselves.
3. Sometimes we are simply testing the platform and you may receive a Hit this way.
